Spineless politicians

Recently, our Hon. Home Minister Mr. Shivraj Patil compared Sarabjit's case with that of Afzal Guru. He said that "People are saying that don’t hang an Indian in Pakistan, Sarabjit, and then they are demanding hanging of a Pakistani, Afzal Guru… this is not fair,” he said.

I was expecting this issue to come to surface. But do we know everything about who Sarabjit is, what he has done? Do we have anything to validate judgment of Pakistan's court?
At the same time, we know that our Supreme Court convicted Afzal Guru and handed over a death penalty to him.

I firmly believe that our spineless leaders like Mr. Shivraj Patil shy away from executing sentences of terrorists like Afzal Guru which gives terrorists time to hijack a plane and rescue their colleagues or give an opportunity to distractors to create a scene like Sarabjit.

I could also never understand why our beloved President are still seating on the Afzal Guru?
People like Afzal Guru should be hanged on the day next to SC judgment. As I see it, this is an insult of our SC and also our martyrs who laid their life while defending Parliament (where people like Mr. Patil seat). I also consider this as an insult of all of the Indian citizens.

I agree with poseidon. India has always been perceived as a "weak state" when confronted with terrorism. It is demoralizing for our defence and security personnel. And there was no need for Mr Patil to compare the cases of Sarabjit and Afzal Guru. The court has given a verdict in Afzal Guru case, and it should be implemented as early as possible.
